Fear of Love

"He who fears has not been made perfect in love" (1 John 4:18, NKJV).

By and large, we all need to love and be loved. But what we don't always understand is that some of us don't get the love we expect due to our fear to love and be loved. There might be somewhere in our past that hurt us and to love again could hurt us even more.

Here's Mary for example. She persistently accused her spouse of having interest with other women. Her husband's friendliness toward the opposite sex was misinterpreted by Mary due to her own fear.

Mary's fear developed in mind when she was very young. Her father left her mother and abandoned his family due to another woman. Deep down inside, Mary is afraid that she'll experience the same situation with her spouse.

However, Mary's husband loves her to death and had no plans of separation from her. He had no history of personal interest with any other woman either. But because of Mary's fear about her husband, her intense accusations were making him go away. And had she not realized and got counseling to overcome her fear, she may have devastatingly ruined her marriage and the love she needed and cherished the most in her entire life.

Quite often, the thing we fear, we make it to happen. However, if we recognize any unresolved fear or something that maybe hurting ourselves, we earnestly need to find professional and extensive help to overcome our fear and have a perfect love of our life.
